Individual Therapy

One-on-one therapy with Teens (age 14 and up) and Adults. Individual therapy is an opportunity to dive deep into the things that leave you feeling frustrated or numb. Often in individual therapy I use IFS (Internal Family Systems Therapy), a transformative and evidenced-based psychological approach which helps you to find greater inner-harmony and peace. IFS is rooted in the belief that you already have the potential to heal within you, and that by accepting and listening to yourself you can overcome trauma and recover wholeness.

Methods I may use to help:

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

IFS is a ground-breaking and evidenced-based psychological approach which seeks to help you embrace the deepest parts of yourself. By listening deeply to your own inner needs, experiences, and emotions, you can understand, accept and heal internal wounds. This process allows you to overcome deep internal barriers that you might not be consciously aware of, but that impact you on a daily basis. IFS can empower you to live with greater harmony, balance, and peace.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

DBT is a type of behavior therapy that helps you apply new skills to specific areas in your life. Often as we attempt to overcome challenges or navigate difficult emotions, we develop patterns of thought or behavior that, in the long run, undermine our goals and well-being. DBT helps you identify negative cycles and create new, healthier approaches to these challenging situations. Ultimately, it helps empower you to mindfully and consciously create ways of acting and thinking that move you towards greater balance and happiness.

EMDR- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing

EMDR is a structured form of psychotherapy. Clients are encouraged to focus briefly on a targeted traumatic memory while simultaneously experiencing bilateral stimulation (typically eye movements). EMDR has been extensively researched and has consistently reduced the vividness and emotional intensity of traumatic memories.

“We do not make harmony. We do not achieve it or gain it. It is there all the time. Here we are, in the midst of this perfect way, and our practice is simply to realize it and then to actualize it in our everyday life.”
– Maezumi Roshi, Zen Buddhist Teacher
